All entries you create in Dance Diary — including class notes, corrections, goals, performance details, mood check-ins, and reflections — are stored locally on your device. None of it is ever sent to us or to anyone else.
Dance Diary does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number to use the app.
To understand which features dancers use and to fix crashes, Dance Diary sends anonymous usage statistics to PostHog, the analytics service we use: which screens are opened, which features are used (for example, that a correction was added — never what it says), crash reports, and basic device information such as the app version, operating system and phone model. It never includes anything you write, your moods or body check-ins, names, or your location, and it is not linked to your identity or used to track you across other apps or websites. We don't use advertising SDKs or cookies. You can turn this off at any time in About → Privacy & Security.
We never sell data or share it with advertisers. The only service that receives anything is PostHog, which processes the anonymous statistics above on our behalf.
The optional daily reminder is scheduled entirely on your device. The optional app lock (Face ID, Touch ID, or your phone’s fingerprint or face unlock) is handled by your phone’s operating system — the app never sees or stores your biometric information. Both features are off unless you turn them on, and both can be turned off at any time. If you add the Home Screen widget, the app shares your class timetable, one correction and your next performance with it — on your phone only, never over the internet — and while App Lock is on, the widget shows nothing from your diary.
Dance Diary does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The anonymous usage statistics described above contain no personal information.
Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in control of it. You can:
If our data practices ever change, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above.
