About the app

Dance Diary is a private practice journal and wellness companion for dancers. Log every class, keep your teachers' corrections organized by body part, set weekly and monthly goals, track performances, and check in with how you're feeling — with breathing exercises, grounding tools, and affirmations written for dancers.

Everything you write stays on your own phone. There are no accounts and no ads, and the only thing the app sends is anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.

If you need support

Dance Diary is a journal, not a medical or counselling service. If you are struggling with your mental health, these are free and confidential, any time:

Common questions

Where is my data stored?

Only on your device. Dance Diary has no server and no account system, so nothing is uploaded anywhere.

How do I back up my diary?

Open the About tab and tap Export My Data. You'll get a backup file you can save to Files, email to yourself, or move to a new phone. To restore it, tap Import a Backup on the new device.

What happens if I delete the app?

Your entries are deleted with it, because they live only on your phone. Export a backup first if you want to keep your history.

Can I lock the app?

Yes. In the About tab, turn on Lock with Face ID (on Android, Lock with fingerprint or face). Your device passcode always works as a fallback.

How do I turn the daily reminder on or off?

About tab → Daily Reminder. You can pick the time, and turn it off whenever you like.
